About Dan
Dan Skoglund is a native of Sacramento and has resided in Rancho Cordova since 1975. He works as a relocation consultant for California Moving Systems, a full service moving and storage company.
Dan has been married for 33 years to his loving wife, Pam; his two sons, John, 30 and Jeff, 27, are graduates of Cordova High School.
Dan has been very active in Rancho Cordova for many years. He is a Past President of the Cordova Community Council, the Rancho Cordova Active 20/30 Club, and the Rancho Cordova Rotary Club of which he is a Paul Harris Fellow.
In January 2004, he was selected to serve on the first City Planning Commission and served as Vice Chairman.
In May 2004 the City Council of Rancho Cordova unanimously selected him to replace former Mayor Dave Roberts, who passed away unexpectedly. A supporter of the Strong Neighborhoods initiative, Dan served as Mayor in 2009, advocating for residents on a variety of issues.
He currently represents the City of Rancho Cordova on the Sacramento County Regional Sanitation District and the County of Sacramento Human Rights/Fair Housing Commission and is the Chairman of the City of Rancho Cordova Complete Count Committee for Census 2010.
In 2007 The Skoglund Family Toy Drive was established through the Folsom Cordova Community Partnership. The Toy Drive collects and distributes toys for underprivileged children during the holidays.
